How do I feel about this mascara?

I love love love this mascara. I try not to be a mascara snob, but for the last couple of years this has been the only thing that has touched my lashes. Until recently since I’ve been reviewing mascaras for my site. But up until then, this was my go-to mascara. and well, still is. All my life I always used whatever my mom bought, whatever was on sale, or whatever I found that looked pretty nifty at the drugstore.
Enter the year 2008. When I was relaxing in front of the TV, watching QVC, and I met 100% pure. Or Susie Wang that is.

I was sitting there and I kept thinking to myself. “What? Mascara and cosmetics, colored by fruits and vegetables? Seriously?”
I was hooked and I had to know what it was like. One of the best make up desisions I have ever made in my entire life.

As soon as I got my new mascara, I feel in love and I hadn’t even opened it yet. But this beautiful chrome tube, just screamed lovely-ness, and elegance at me.

I opened it. After noticing how spectacular the brush was I noticed the smell. And I don’t mean in a bad way. Each mascara shade is colored with fruit pigments. For example…blackberry is colored with blackberries and other various fruits so when you open it, it smells divine.

It lifted and seperated my lashes beautifully. I always just seemed to think my lashes were just kinda eh so so, but it was just because thats just how they were. Boy, was I wrong. Turns out when you stop subjecting your lashes to all kinds of nastiness, your lashes will come out to play. Over the next few weeks, my lashes grew, stopped breaking, and became more fuller and longer. If I could, I would use the word treatment in the name. Because it treated my abused lashes and helped them look nice again.

Best mascara by far that i’ve ever used, and also has a really nice brush, which is important. I’ll continue to buy and use it.

I have normally used just the Black Tea, but curiousity got the best of me and I purchased blackberry last time, which I love. It is the most beautiful color!

QVC is generally where I buy mine, strictly because they offer the duo set that runs about $30 for 2 tubes. Its just a more cost saver for way for me to buy it, plus I have a back up, in case I lose a tube or my daughter gets into it, in which case I will only be freaking out because she got into it, not because its unsafe. Because with all of 100 percent pures products they are all safe. They are the perfect make up for little girls to use. Here’s hoping that someday they will make a small palette with the little kids in mind.

I love love love this palette. Unfortunately now that I own 1 tarte palette I want more. They are simply spectacular. I love Maureen’s vision of make-up needing to look good when you pull it out of your purse to use it. I love all the purple boxes that the products and I love all fashionable compacts. They are so cute!

Oh yes, free eyelid primer! sweet! Someone in make-up heaven must have been listening when I said the other day that I wanted the eyelid primer. 🙂

This is no thin cheapy palette. This has a nice weight and thickness to it.

10 full size colors, a double ended brush, and a double ended eyeliner. This really is a spectacular deal. It costs $44. Now before you frugal-istas go wow thats alot for alot. First remember, you get what you pay for. You are getting good quality ingredients. And second. If you added up what it could cost for a double ended brush, a double ended eyeliner and 10 full size eyeshadows, I bet even with the cheap drugstore brands you’d have more into it then $44.

The colors are amazing. heavy pigmented and have great staying power.

Also includes a step by step card with 2 complete looks to play with. I chose the first look, which used all the colors in row one, the goldish colored eyeliner. It was hard to get the camera to get a good shot, but it looked fantastic.

I love everything about this kit. I was quite surprised with how smooth and creamy the eyeliners were. Not hard and rough on the eyes like most traditional wooden eyeliners are, and the colors are beautiful. All ten colors of eyeshadow are very nicely pigmented. I didn’t need alot when applying and it stayed all day. I was also extremely impressed with my deluxe size eyelid primer that came with my set, that was a really nice surprise I wasn’t expecting that at all. My oily eyelids loved it and made my color stay strong without any creasing all day. I will do a seperate review of the eye lid primer next week.

I have absolutely no complaints with this product. Its awesome. Owning one makes you want to own them all! 🙂

LOVE IT! tarte Micronized Amazonian Clay Skin Balancing Powder with Brush

Ok, so I have a confession to make. I knew before I ordered this product that I was going to love it. I also knew the moment I saw it on air that I had to have it, and that I would Love, Love, LOVE it. So I ordered a second set.

I gotta admit though. As intrigued as I was about this new innovative powder, the first thing I did, after i excitedly tore open the package…..was drool over the brush. I had to touch it. And, YUM! Its absolutely delicious. Maybe I’m weird like that, but I have a thing about makeup brushes. I feel like you really need the right tools for proper application. A make up artist skills make her good, her brushes make her excellent. Anywho! The brush. Light, Soft, like a feather. It gathered up the powder and dispersed it evenly, over my face. I sooo am loving this brush.

SO now I’m super intrigued about the foundation brush that comes with the Amazonian Clay Infused Liquid Foundation, that is releases the 16 th, I CAN’T WAIT!!

Now onto the goods. The Powder. Micronized Amazonian Clay. Micronized is short term means really, really small fine particles. In beauty terms, for your face, it means flawless, clear finish. Amazonian Clay, is new to me. However, its simply amazing!


So after going to work, I swung home, hoping my mail lady was gracious enough to bring me my beloved goodies. And she did..yah! My face was like an oil slick from summer/work/this mornings makeup….(silly, previous,*no name*, supposed oil control powder…….which by the way went into the trash tonight) I blotted my face with my oil blotting papers, how great are those things, seriously?! Made sure of was free of oil. Then I glided the powder onto my face…It was amazing/love at first touch. Its light and airy. It made my face feel really smooth not tacky, or sticky how it had felt 5 seconds before…it almost felt cooling. I read a review online that stated something to the effect of it making them look white. It is translucent and gives a nice airbrush finish, with a little bit of a glow once it settles in. If you look like you got hit with a bag of flour, not only have you used WAY to much, but you’ve also not blended/applied it properly. Its pretty error proof as far as I’m concerned.

Then I went and planted flowers outside, went walking for an hour with my friend, and then ran errands and came home…

No shiny-ness. I got home and my face was free of shine. Awesome! I know some people are like ok…its a powder, settle down. But if you know me you’d know a few things. I strive to only use great all natural makeup and skincare, and I’ve been on a long time journey to find the “It” products for my face when it comes to concealer, foundation, and powder. Not only have I found my powder, but I’m pretty convinced that I will feel the same about the foundation as soon as I get my hands on it. And if that happens, well then I’ll just have to order the concealer too!

Keep in mind. This is my first journey with tarte. I’ve previously used another all natural brand. This is the 4th tarte product I’ve used and purchased in the last week and its safe to say that, I’ve converted. I will be doing more reviews on the other products VERY soon!

I definitely recommend this product. I love it a few pointers…this product, as with all tarte products is cruelty free. It is also formulated with out junk: mineral oil, parabens, petrolatum, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, synthetic dyes and fragrances.

It also has a very nifty packaging. (it was hard to get a picture of it) It has one hole for the product to come out of…which means no mess. less product coming out less waste. incredible! It comes with a little plastic stopper that may be thrown away, but Im holding onto mine I think. I love that it won’t make a huge mess. If you’ve ever used Bare Escentuals you know the unholy mess that Im describing. Eww.

And last but not least. I bought this for daily oil control/setting powder for makeup, with added clarity. But after using it during the day today, I made an even better plan, for it. It has now become my 24/7 powder. Meaning..after I washed my face and put on my night cream, I dusted a little over my face. It reminds me of a powder that I won’t name names that you can wear at bed time…its now midnight and I washed my face at 7 and we are shine free! Get Your Beauty On!
