My previous experience with a lip stain were not so great. As well as my first and only experience with a lip product that promises plumping results. I had tried Benefit’s Lip and Cheek Tint. Its supposedly like this coveted beauty product…..insert rolling of the eyes and big pfhh! here ——-> 😉
Sorry, I’m not buyin’ it. It was disgusting. I don’t get what anyone see in it. And my first and last for that matter, experience was with Bare Minerals Buxom Gloss,…..*ducks and hides* Sorry BE girls…that product is AWFUL! Instantly felt like it was burning my lips but then they were also numb at the same time……ridiculous!

The shade that I am reviewing is Craving. I have a confession to make. At first I didn’t think I liked it. I thought the shade was off. Turns out, you just need very little. And then it was like the most perfect sheer nude, slightly pink shade. Love it.

So I used End #1- the color. Put a little on with the sponge applicator.

Then it dries in like one hot second. It was quick. What I noticed was that my lips hadn’t felt like they had been put in a space bag, and sucked in really tight. It didn’t have that super dried up feeling.

Then I used End #2-and applied the clear gloss with the brush applicator, which was pretty fab by the way.

And presto! Super cute sheer nude pink lips in a flash, that are gonna last this mama all day! Yipee!

One of my favorite things about this gloss, is a not so obvious one. But for me, I was like WooHoo! Once you’ve had the gloss on for a while and you’d expect your lips to dry up, it didn’t. It left my lips with the nice creamy consistancy you’d get from a lip balm. It was very moisturizing. I really liked it. And I also felt it did plump my lips up as well. But I never felt that scary numbness or burning that I felt with the previous brand. It was a nice experience. So nice, I might just need to own them all. I do believe when I write my Multi-Tasking Mama Post, This will be the gloss. The color pretty much the whole day and I think I re-applied the gloss like twice. What a time saver!

I’m quite looking forward to my Plant Love reviews. I mean seriously, look at this packaging! How super cute is that? How could you not be drawn to it, want it, and want to show it off? Beyond the packaging obsession, the insides just as good as the outside. With such things like Grape seed, Sunflower, and Rosehip Oil, its not only good for your skin, its pretty too. The color I am going to show today is Lily. A really pretty pink, that has a shimmer/glitter to it. A slightly high shimmer, depending on application. I really liked this color a lot. I don’t think I’ve really owned a color like this since high school. When I’m almost positive, I had a shade similar to this, that I wore everyday. Only it was made a by a yucky company. But I didn’t know any better back then.

Back to the color. Now stating I wore this shade in high school does not by mean in anyway that it is for girls of a younger age. Ladies of all ages could wear it. I think it comes down to more of a shimmer/no shimmer preference, some of us like more matte shades, in which case this is not one.

My compact had an accident. I dropped something on my make-up bag. In its defence, it didn’t stand a chance, it was pretty heavy. So don’t feel like if you drop it, or drop something light on it that it will break. I got it good, it was sad and I yelled, “man, down”! Ok so I didn’t really yell that.

But I got it all tucked away safe and sound courtesy of a nice little empty Donna Karan jar I had. Here’s an upclose of its new home so you can see the color better.

On bare eyelids, it didn’t make it all day. I should specify, that my “make up” day is usually like 12-15 hours. So its a long one. On a primed eyelid it performed quite well. I like that it made my eyes pop. I like that its made without dyes, colors, or fragrances and paraben free. Housed in 100% plant-derived plastic, that is biodegradable and recyclable, its a big winner all around. I will definitely buy it again. Might grab the Heron next, its a really pretty pale blue. I’ve been dying to find a good blue eyeshadow.

Juice Beauty Organic Lip Moisturizer

Sometimes I like to review products and see if I can review them in 3 words. This was one of them. Here is how I describe it in 3 words:

Sweet, Shiny, Yummy-delicious-ness.

Ok so that was almost 4. And I don’t know if “yummy-delicious-ness”, is a word, but I like it and it should be. But seriously, YUM!

The first thing I noticed was that it had a sweet yummy smell. Sweet Orange. I would say, due to the orange oil in it. Along with Orange Oil, it has Beeswax, Shea Butter, Vanilla, Cocoa Butter, and Vitamin E(non-GMO). All of which are certified organic, except for the vitamin E. The second thing I noticed was the shine. It has a high shine for yummy glossy lips.

It is USDA approved. Which means that Juice Beauty has met the strict standards, guidelines and regulations that the National Organic Program has. Which is greater then 95% organic content.

I love that they mentioned it on the box, because its important to me. Our skin absorbs up to 64% of what we put on it. Plus anything you put on your lips, you eat. Calling all Bonnie Belle Lip SMACKER fans!! You do NOT want to know what is in your lip balm. But you really should!

I really like this gloss. It leaves your lips super soft with a high shine. Its the perfect all natural gloss. My mom who is a balm/gloss lover tried it and said she liked it to. And she doesn’t like a lot of things so.

In conclusion,… Sweet, Shiny, Lip Smackin’, Yummy-delicious-ness. Sounds good to me!

Its a good thing Juice is in the name because its pretty darn juicy. 😉

Jane Iredale Retractable Handi Brush

I love make up brushes. I sometimes love the brushes more then the make up. This is definitely one of those times. In the past I wasn’t so sure about retractable brushes. They always either fell short, had so-so bristles, or just did not perform like a regular brush.
Fast forward to a few months ago. A favorite, beloved, and very expensive brush of mine, had a bad incident occur when it got ate by the zipper on my make up case. Insert sad face here….—–> 😦 I vowed to never, if at all possible use any brushes in my make up case that were not retractable. And this is when I met Jane Iredale’s Retractable Handi Brush……….Insert happy face here……——> 🙂

Ok so before I go any further, I want to clear something up before any questions arise. Yes, it is made with animal hair. And normally I don’t review them. Only because most of the time I use synthetic, they tend to be cheaper. Synthetic bristles resist absorbing oils, and make up and stay a little cleaner. But there are still make up brushes made with hair that I own, that I like and this is one of them. It is also important to address the big pink elephant in the room. Jane Iredale’s site specifically states: Cruelty-Free: All of the natural hair used in the manufacture of our brushes comes from after-market suppliers. No animals are harmed in any way.” And I commend them for making a statement like that right out in the open. Based on that statement, I believe its a matter of personal preference/choice. So please don’t comment or email about this if you disagree its not up for discussion. Back to the brush!!

Used best with pressed powders, this brush performs flawlessly. I have also used it with loose powders and it did a great job as well.

And we find that, its usually followed by the words, “fabulous”, delicious”, or “Ooo! Yummy” 🙂 If your not that into make up brushes you wouldn’t probably get it. And thats ok. Everyone has their thing. One of mine is brushes. And this ones great. It performed flawlessly on pressed and loose powders. It dispersed it evenly and smoothly onto my face. I am in awe at the smoothness and the quality of this brush. Held up to the light, the top is completely straight, smooth, and perfect. You can tell when a brush has had a decent amount of work into it, not to mention the hand tied bristles. That speaks quality.

Eco Tools 6pc. Brush Set

I LOVE Eco Tools. They make fantastic brushes. Not only are they cruelty free, and extremely affordable,but they are pretty easy to come by. For around $10, for the set, you can’t go wrong. They are exceptionally great brushes, and are worth $10 or more. They don’t shed either which is a HUGE plus. I will order certain things if I need to, but I love that these I don’t have to order. Its a hit and miss. I haven’t found that every place carries all of the products, but target has a decent selection, walgreens and rite aid both have a pretty decent amount, and I can’t remember what all walmart carries, but I do know that they do carry an exclusive alicia silverstone case with brushes. walgreens has a small cosmetic bag of the alicia silverstone designs.

I really love this brand and everything they offer. One of my favorites is actually not an obvious choice, since I love make up brushes. My favorite is this 3 pack of sponges. tarte EyeQuatics Waterproof Summer Essentials Set *Sephora Exclusive*

So for starters. I love tarte. I’ve never met a tarte product that I didn’t like until just recently. I’d also like to mention that I hate writing bad reviews. Especially for a tarte product. But I must. My blog is all honesty, and even though I love tarte, I did not like this product at all. I was really excited to try this kit, and it fell short, big time.

So I guess for starters lets go over whats in it.
You get a deluxe Lights, Camera, Splashes! 4-in-1 Natural Waterproof Mascara, 3-Lock & Roll Creaseless Eye Shadow Duos in Lavendar, Teal, Champagne, Mod-Chic Head Scarf

Ok so here comes the pros and cons:

The Pros:
It has a really pretty scarf, that is very big. It comes with a deluxe Light, Camera, Splashes! I did not review this product. I am assuming that I will like this product when I use it or someone will if I give it as a gift. I like the Lights, Camera, Lashes! so I am assuming that it is similar, just has waterproof qualities. Sorry I am frugal, and currently have mascaras open so I don’t want to waste.

The Cons:
I believe that they’re either old or have been sitting somewhere hot. Which made it maybe not perform as well. The purple was all seperated and there was no way to get it shook back together, it was gross. The first and only color I used on my eyelids was champagne. With primer it felt cakey, dry and very weird. Without primer, I don’t know how to explain it, but it did not go on smooth. It was more sheer in some spots, and it started to set so quickly that if I went back over the spot to correct, it messed it up even more. The only results I had were on the back of my hand when I swatched it. I don’t know if I would call it waterproof, it rinsed off pretty easy, without the use of soap.

The roller balls were ridiculously hard to use. I couldn’t get anything out unless I pushed REALLY hard. Other then that not much came out. I can’t imagine someone actually trying to push that hard on their eyelids to roll it on. Ouch!
My BIGGEST complaint. And I had forgot that I read this previously on a Sephora.com review. I swatched the teal on my hand. Like I said the colors rinsed off easily. HOWEVER. The teal. Oh. My. Gosh. Left a teal line on the top of my hand…….for 3, THREE!! days. WHAT?!?! I was on Sephora earlier, and tons of people are saying the same thing. Thats just crazy. SO beware….Do NOT put the Teal on your eyelids!

I’m really shocked at this kit. When I first heard about Lock & Roll Creaseless Shadows, I was like, that sounds perfect for my oily eyelids. Not so much. It was an awful product. I haven’t decided if I’m keeping it. I am just glad that I bought it when it was $15 and not whatever it used to be. I haven’t decided if the scarf and deluxe mascara are worth the $15 to keep, or gift to someone.
I do not recommend this set what so ever. 😦 Sorry tarte.

Yes, yes I did. Sephora kindly got their butts in gear and it arrived last thursday. I’ve just been testing it out before I weighed in on it.

I like it a lot. If it also covered blemishes, I think I’d love it. But it didn’t do a whole lot in that department. In its defense, it didn’t claim that it would, I was just hoping. However my skin has been pretty blemish free, so its all good.

What it is, and what it does: A corrective yellow cream and powder concealer that reduces redness associated with rosacea and sun exposure by 50% in just 4 weeks.

This concealer contains good for your skin goodies, such as:

-Amazonian clay: Nature’s most perfect ingredient, a multitasking and skin-balancing clay.
-ARPM™: Anti-redness peptide matrix that is clinically proven to reduce redness associated with rosacea and sun exposure by 50% in just 4 weeks.
-Camellia tea: A powerful astringent that contains toning properties, is rich in antioxidants, and helps reduce puffiness and inflammation.
-Honey Extract: A natural humectant that helps reduce inflammation and aide in tissue healing.

I personally can’t vouch for the reducing redness over time because its only been a week. However it does cover and conceal my redness that I have. I also really really like that it is not thick, or cakey. It evens things out, and blends in well. As it states its a 2 part system. Cream concealer on top, powder in the bottom. It works quite flawlessly. It really does work as far as covering redness, so I’m pretty sure that over time with the special ingredients in it, that it would help redness subside as well.
It also has NOT broke me out. I think thats important to mention. Because a lot of concealers do break me out. I have very mild rosacea. Mostly just areas on my face that stay red. This has really helped. I can’t stress enough how much it would be of help to someone with moderate to severe rosacea. And because it doesn’t have a lot of garbage like other products, it aids in helping with rosacea. Because when you already have a skin condition acne, rosacea, etc. You really don’t need anything chemicals, etc being unpleasant to your skin.

Beauty Cosmedics Oil-Free Moisture SPF15

So there some things, in my make up routine that are not “green” so to speak.

*GASP!* For shame you say, Beauty Mama, how could you?!

Haha.

Here’s the thing. There’s about 3, 4, maybe 5 things tops in my beauty routine that I have not done away with yet.
Here’s why. My skin is finicky. It does not like very many things. So it doesn’t mean that I have just chose not to replace them with something safe, its just that for whatever reason my skin likes them and keeps them irritation and acne free.
Its a nobody wins situation.

One of those items happens to be my moisturizer. I have used Neutrogena Combination Skin lotion for a while. When I stray, my face has choice words for me, and I reluctantly go back to it.

Its with great pleasure and excitement to say my moisturizer has FINALLY met its match.

You must know that for a product to replace a previously used/loved product in my daily bag, is no small task, and it really is an honor.

To replace such item a product REALLY has to perform and deliver, and this lotion from Beauty Cosmedics did just that.

My skin is oily. It is dry. It is sensitive. It is mildy rosecea, in some areas. It is acne prone…..

In other words, its whatever it wants to be, whenever it chooses to be. Fun stuff, huh?:)

In previous experience my face didn’t respond well to any sunscreens. Chemical or Non-Chemical. I have had literally no problems with this product, and if anyone was going to have a problem with a product it would be my skin.

This Oil Free Moisture SPF 15 from Beauty Cosmedics is amazing! Theres about a million reasons why I’m lovin’ it, but I’ll start with the most important.

Without the use of parabens, fragrance, chemicals, petroleum, perfume, talc, dyes, fillers and artificial preservatives, it already stands out as an amazing moisturizer. Light and Soothing, with its UVA/UVB protection, it hydrates and protects WITHOUT clogging pores. Yipee!! It also claims to double as a primer. So to test that I have been going without primer, and it definitely serves its purpose as a primer. A lot of people can’t wear primers because they clog pores. This is a double whammy one step wonder lotion.

This is the clear. This is the lotion that I said literally stomped all over my Neutrogena…which is now,….in the trash. Yah!
It looks white but it blends in VERY easily, and leaves no white what so ever. Its spectacular. I especially LOVE that you only need a little bit, its so concentrated. Along with blending easily, it absorbs quickly and leaves your skin with a nice glow. I’ve been wearing this along with 2 other shades of it, and its been amazing. What?! 2 more shades you say? Oh yes,…..by the way…this formula also comes in tinted formula. How awesome! There are 4 shades total. I will be reviewing 3 of them.

Clear, Light, Medium, Bronze (not shown)

I love the fact that the shades are universal. Heres what I mean. I have SOOO many options.

Option #1- I can wear the clear, and no make up or wear it under my powder foundation etc.

Option #2- I can wear the light and wear bronzer, etc. This would also be my winter shade.

Option #3- I can wear the Medium, which is like almost an exact fit at the moment because I some how got a little color. I’ll call it my summer shade.

Option #4- OR I could wear the Bronze, and skip bronzer altogether. I have not tried this. But I have no doubt that if used sheerly, even I with fair skin, could use it.

I usually find maybe 1 thing that I don’t like about a product even though I might still love it. Not with this. I love, LOVE, love it.
Theres not ONE thing, not 1 thing, that I could find that I did not like.

And because its free of EVERYTHING imaginable..thats right, no junk here.

This lotion is perfect. But its especially perfect for those of us who have skin conditions.
I highly recommend this to anyone with oily, acne prone, dry, sensitive, rosacea. Its great for ALL skin types. But those with skin conditions with especially benefit from it. Its fabulous!!
